Digital Attendance

E-Attendance via Singpass Mandatory for All SSG-Funded WSQ Security Courses

From 1 October 2023, all learners at SSG-funded WSQ security courses in Singapore must record attendance digitally through the Singpass app at every session. Missing a scan means that session is not counted toward your 75% attendance requirement which affects both your SkillsFuture funding eligibility and your PLRD licence pathway.

OBSE Deadline 31 December 2026. All existing Security Officers in Singapore must complete the Operate Basic Security Equipment (OBSE) module by 31 December 2026. This is the final extension granted by PLRD. Officers who do not complete OBSE training by this date will be in breach of their PLRD licensing conditions and cannot be deployed at sites. Register for OBSE at Etann Academy now.
Download the Singpass app before your first WSQ security class. Without it, you cannot take E-Attendance and may lose SSG funding eligibility. Search "Singpass" on the App Store or Google Play and link it to your NRIC before your course date.

Download Singpass App

Available on App Store and Google Play. Set up and link to your NRIC before your first WSQ security class at Etann Academy.

Arrive on Time to Every Session

Attendance QR codes are displayed at the start of each class. Late arrival may result in that session not being counted toward your 75% requirement.

Scan the QR Code with Singpass

Open your Singpass app and scan the attendance QR code shown by your trainer. This records your presence directly with SSG and counts toward your SkillsFuture funding eligibility.

Confirm and Screenshot

Tap Approve in your Singpass app to confirm. You will receive a confirmation message. Screenshot it as backup proof of attendance.

You must attend at least 75% of all training sessions across your WSQ security course to remain eligible for SSG funding and to sit the POLWEL assessment required for your WSQ Statement of Attainment. Trainees who fall below 75% attendance may be required to pay the full course fee and may not be eligible to apply for their PLRD security officer licence from that course attempt.
